Another busy week just ended for Stockport County supporters, but it started with a mighty bang, as County supporters the world over put their hands into their pockets and raised a magnificent £ 3200 for the Players Fund....in one single day.....Blue Monday! This fantastic result is the culmination of the ideas and energy of County fan Steve Gibbons, coordinated and managed brilliantly by Help the Hatters and the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative! Better Together never better show cased!





Thursday saw another Indoor Working Party at the Bungalow, and the 12 supporters who turned out did a decent amount of painting- the only wall not to have had at least one coat now being the problem wall nearest the football ground. Plans are in hand to tackle this over the coming months, so bear with us, we will get it sorted!
 Saturday was County`s game against hot promotion favourites Guiseley, and before the match there was the usual warm welcome for Supporters in the Bungalow, which by 2pm was comfortably full.
The new TV was in place and the Vicar`s copy of the County History DVD got an airing, whilst County`s new medical man, Mark Brown, popped in being introduced to the throng by Supporters Cooperative Chairman Peter Towey.

Help the Hatters latest recruit, Lewis Burns,  went round with the card, and the whole day( pods, pints, pies and card) raised in excess of £700 for the Players Fund- another great effort!

Remember.....every pint sold at the Bung pre match, and in the hour after the game, earns dosh for the Players Fund. So...why not make a point of popping in on Boxing Day when County are matched against Colwyn Bay. There will be mulled wine, mince pies and stuff like that awaiting you- what`s not to like!
On to Sunday and the Tidy Squad were on duty inside Edgeley Park tidying up as their title suggests.

 
Product of just one hours work!
A dozen bin bags were crammed with litter when the Squad had concluded their labours ( in about an hour), and we are very grateful for the effort made by the supporters concerned, who are a credit to the Club!

The Tidy Squad !
We are aware that perhaps there could be more litter bins stationed about E.P. , and we are on the case as we speak, but it would help considerably if supporters would put litter in those bins that are inside the ground ,rather than under or near a seat or anywhere else. Thanks in advance for your help with this one!




This week is an important week for the Supporters Cooperative who`s AGM it is on Thursday 11th  at 7.30 pm at the Bungalow. If you are a member please turn up and play a part. If you are not, still turn up and consider joining!
Friday 12th is the day of the Cooperative`s `Xmas Cavort ` at the Magnet on the A6. This starts at 7pm, with acoustic group Shifty doing the biz in the Function Room. £ 6.50 gets you a ticket for this if you are a member/ £ 8 if not a member, and there`s an Xmas gift included ! Simply Disgraceful ! This day will rank in infamy    with some of the darkest in our Club`s history- the owners of Stockport County have sacked Jim Gannon…..a dreadful decision......... totally bereft of merit, and one heralded by a shamefully inadequate announcement, as insulting to County fans as it is to Jim. Champions under Jim in our last completed season, fourth in the league after as impressive a win as any Club Chair could wish to witness from his team on Tuesday, despite the interrupted nature of the current season, and clearly playing well, so this smacks of something other than prudence or good decision making and as for being rational and fair………….. Sadly the Club`s owners rather added to the anger their foolish decision has already triggered, by stating that the decision was not results based, but based on `culture`.   Jim is a proven quality Manager , who knows what it takes to make County tick, has done so many times in the past, and   has forgotten more about Co

Wrexham 1 Stockport County 2 ( Vanarama National League) 31 August 2019

“Where`s the goals gonna come from”-is a familiar refrain from those wanting County to ship in a new striker every other week, and County once again fully answered that one with “ from almost everywhere” as goals from defenders Sam Minihan and Ash Palmer secured all the points at the Racecourse Ground today against Wrexham. A 2-0 County lead at half time seemed to signal a rout, but Wrexham fought well upon the re-start and made a real match of it , albeit that an imperious display by County`s superb back line limited them largely to shots from distance. The defensive display from JG`s boys, in the second 45 minutes, if somewhat hard on the nerves, was again excellent , but a late goal to the Welshmen made the last few minutes tenser than perhaps they should have been.         Perhaps expectations were a touch excessive, after all most visits to Meadow Lane usually result in a stiff test from a home side hell bent on victory. Today was no exception to this as County were outplayed for 94 and a half minutes of the 96 played, by a Notts County side drilled to do the basics correctly, and doing just that. Almost all their passes, no matter the situation, inevitably found a man in a black and white shirt who knew thereafter precisely what they should do with it, whereas if County had no shortage of possession at times, they appeared to be largely lacking a basic pattern to work to that went beyond the sideways pass, and the occasional long ball from Rooney.
