Charlton Athletic 2 Stockport County 2 ( FA Cup Round 2 ) Saturday 26 November 2022

      He`s on the left, he`s on the right…..he wasn`t even on the park for over an hour of tonight`s fire cracker of a game at the Valley, but the redoubtable Myles Hippolyte was when it mattered and his glorious finish gave County a deserved 2-2 draw that takes Ben Garner`s Charlton Athletic side back to Edgeley Park for an FA Cup replay they very definitely didn`t expect. They thought they had won the game and were in the next round when Morgan lobbed Hinchliffe to give the Addicks a 2-1 lead . They so clearly thought this was enough to see County off. But they figured without County`s desire and will to hit back and get something from the game, and they certainly couldn`t handle Hippolyte and with the skilful Charlton side visibly wilting late on faced with the onslaught from the blues, the dye was cast! Cue more County attacking into 7 minutes added time boosted exponentially by a stupendous Hinchliffe save as our hosts broke clear, and rounded off superbly by Hippolyte`s b

The Bung- Gone But Not Forgotten !

      The Bung…..Gone But Not Forgotten !   ( Many thanks to Simon George for his help putting this together, images used are a mix of hedgegrower shots and some neat images from Simon ) .............................. It was incredibly sad to see work start on demolishing the Bungalow Club on Hardcastle Road recently.   The Bung, as it had become affectionately known, so very recently but for too short a time a place,  a hub if you like where County fans could (and frequently did ) meet before and after games at Edgeley Park. The old place had been the but of cruel jokes for years previously   …..the crumbling structure…….the ever so indefinable fragrance in the air   and the queues…..the almost impenetrable queues for beer that was at best average would be a recurring feature of Bung life as supporters  became regular customers! The brewery and other creditors were poised like impatient vultures to pull the plug when Help the Hatters along with Saint Saviour made the
