Wow…… Again as Help the Hatters Smash It at the Fair !

On a weekend where County wowed us at Brisbane Road on Saturday, it was Help the Hatters turn yesterday in the 1883 Suite with their `Programme & Memorabilia Fair`.

It was an absolute belter superbly organised and put together by Help the Hatters hard working Edd Powell the event raised a massive £1331 in support of the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal.

It was another case of the County Family coming together to do something that was worth doing and that magnificent sum will help no end in paying those late statue bills.

The event, as mentioned above, is a belter and regularly attracts a large field of seasoned dealers who take pitches inside the 1883.

Every one of them know how many commercial beans make five and are there to make a profit but, and this must be largely down to Edd`s knack of getting the organisation spot on whilst  making everyone feel at home , the friendly atmosphere generated within the pitch operators contributes hugely to a brilliantly relaxing 3 hours!

Help the Hatters were in the 1883, along with the dealers, at the 8 am opening time and at this point we would like to thank the Club for their part in the successful day.

The Club allowed us use of1883 Suite gratis, and we were particularly glad of the loan of the urn that facilitated many a cup of tea or coffee ( for a donation )- close on £100 was raised via this method by Dot, Angela and Ray!

Angela of course produced one of her famous cakes which was well received and consumed quickly.

Help the Hatters had one of the larger pitches on view, David Wright on duty mostly and it did well, as did Simon on the raffle who raised £87!

Also there early doors were the Supporters Cooperative and their pitch raised a record total of £416 which is included in the £1331 mentioned earlier.

With the statue unveiling nearing fast ( be on the C/E car park for 9.50 on May 8 ) it was good to see Simon Bergara in the 1883 and in good form!

A weary tidy up post 1 pm and it was time to head off home with memories of a fantastic event to savour!

Well done Edd Powell for the brilliant organisation and to the Help the Hatters crew for their usual dedication and thoroughness!
