A Tale of Hard Graft, a Possible Marketing First….and some Froggery !
“So what`s new” I hear you exclaim rudely, “it`s just another
Help the Hatters Monday at Edgeley Park !”
And you are of course correct, and a decent number turned out
this morning to clear the litter left from Saturday`s game with Woking.
An early start by, John W , Dot, Malcolm, Broderick, Kevin, Alan,
and some bloke in a daft hat helped it zing along nicely ,and with over a dozen
ultimately working, it was all cleared by 10.45.
Some of the `early birds` shunning publicity ! |
At this point let me point out
that the litter bags stationed twixt Upper and Lower Tiers of the Cheadle End
were pretty full, so I must complement supporters for responding to our appeals-
IT IS APPRECIATED-THANK YOU !
Back to the Museum then for a brew and a biscuit, and it all
went well until that bloke in the daft hat , who was in charge of dispensing
the drinks, managed to not know whether
he had put coffee or tea in one cup “ the pressure “ he said but……………….
It soon became apparent that both beverages had been
dispensed into a fairly large `man sized` cup, but Ray showed he is a brave lad
as well as one of the hardest grafters about by volunteering to “ drink it
anyway”
Fantastic ………..we thought, there`s a potential window here for
a bit of entrepreneurial wizardry, as
Ray gave us the thumbs up after a sip or two of the seriously odd brown
beverage, thoughts of marketing it as `Cofftea` or `Teaco` filled our heads.
Then just 2 minutes later…calamity….marketing campaign kaput…….
Thankfully Ray was soon back to normal chatting to Anne, as
thoughts turned to `Froggery`.
You will know Help the Hatters, with considerable help from a
third party, to whom we are grateful, ensured that the County Frog found a
home- Edgeley Park.
After a discussion it was confirmed that there will be a short
ceremony at 2.30 inside Edgeley Park, before Saturday`s game with Dag & Red
to welcome the County Frog to its permanent home twixt Cheadle End and the turnstiles.
Local artist Douglas Hutton and Mrs Hutton , we are pleased to say are invited ,
so there is something good to look forward too ,along with the game, on
Saturday!
Finally……….. Help the Hatters are to hold a business meeting
on Wednesday 13 November ( 7pm for7.15) in the County Museum, please join us
and maybe get involved if you are not already.
