hedgegrower ...... set
off in an obstinate mood last season, totally refusing to head for the ` GST
Gas Services Stadium’, instead setting his sites on arriving safely at `The
Lamb’ ……
Some seats in here for County fans possibly... |
Setting off in good time made no difference at all as the M6 as usually was a car park.
The stewards were a
fresh set last season and in an altogether better humour than on previous
visits.
Stadium.
The Lamb is a modest
stadium, but with cover behind the goal should the elements worsen, not too bad
a spot from which to watch a game.
Segregation was in place last term and no doubt will be the rule again this time
around, and apart from the actions of one County supporter who seemed intent on
provoking WW3, it all past off pretty well, with the stewards choosing
diplomacy over brutality in their response to the WW3 Provocateur in our midst!
Sustenance!
2016/17's new caterer was again on site, last season, but whilst there was adequate provision of
the usual footy fare, much of it lacked the zing of somewhere like Brackley.
Indeed whilst my hot dog was passable, for the second year on a trot the dog
was overpowered/ ruined by under done and greasy onions.
Thinking I might be
over picky I sought out the blog `Gastronomic Advisor’ but he was suffering
`Burger Trauma Syndrome’ bemoaning the absence of flavour in his chosen meal.
Looking for solace ,I
purchased a coffee …wished I hadn’t bothered…and tipped 90% of it away- such is
the life of the travelling football supporter I told myself!
