Stockport County 0 Alfreton Town 1 ( Vanarama National League- North) 25 August 2018

County went down to their second defeat of the season , losing a frustrating battle against Billy Heath`s collection of bean poles and bruisers, otherwise known as Alfreton Town, 1-0 today at Edgeley Park.
The game was frustrating simply because any semblance of flow was cut off at source via a constant series of free kicks occasioned by a multiplicity of fouls by the visitors. Flow disrupted……County tried without success to make an impression as a seemingly endless stream of free kicks came to nought.

This was a shame as JG started with both Bell and Mulhearn ,whichI thought was well worth a try.

Bell did put himself about enough to deservedly take the M.O.M award...................

....... but …that said…..County …despite applying much pressuremore than a time or two, never really looked like finding the net against a side expertly coaxed and nurtured by long time JG target Tom Denton.

Denton was immense……….. a magician at using a simple lofted ball and turning it into something with men…

Aggborough is a decent stadium, well up to staging games at this and higher levels, and with the stewards in good humour and on top of their jobs ,the ingredients were all there for a good afternoon last term.
County had the covered terrace behind one goal, and the acoustics under that roof are excellent. Those preferring a seat, had a side on view in the stand to the right of the covered terrace which offers a decent view.

Add the catering facilities, and only a big win would have made things better.

Aggborough is justifiably renowned for the excellence of the catering, and the multiplicity of choices ,food wise, makes a pre match fast in preparation well in order.

The Harriers Social Club will probably be open to County fans again serving  b…
