Stadium.
The New Bucks is a decent stadium, with an away end
offering a good view allied to top notch acoustics thanks to a relatively low
roof. The toilets…bar….eatery are all under cover , and there are ample seats
available for those seeking them so what’s not to like…well possibly the
ridiculous `cordon sanitare’ that separated standing County fans from the
seated variety.
Sustenance!
Telford are
fast learners, and the crush of season 2015/16 under the stand was totally
absent this term. They had used their loaf and separated the eatery from the
bar which was moved 50 yards to the left.
This made perfect sense and totally
worked! It also meant queues were absent.
I took advantage of the absence of competing elbows to
order a hot dog, the meat of which poked precociously way beyond the outer
extremes of the bap, nestling on a bed of slightly under done onions. I was
happy with that, and from what I witnessed so were most others.
In a
relatively tranquil affair last season, it was disconcerting to see one of our number
encroach on the pitch attracting the attention of the constabulary who hitherto
had been in snooze mode. No repeat this time around please.
