Stockport County 2 Bristol Rovers 0 ( Football League 1 ) Saturday 13 August 2024

          County turned on the gas impressively at Edgeley Park today to claim a third win in three and maintain their position atop League One against Bristol Rovers. Rovers looked a business-like outfit and , to their credit, were still trying to get something from the game in its dying embers, but that added something that looks to be needed to unsettle a County side playing with exceptional   determination and flair, was just not there for Matt Taylor`s side! It was another   terrific     team performance from the blues filled again with borderline M.O.M   showings from DC`s boys- Woots won it with another outstanding match, but   point to Will Collar……to Fraser   Horsfall, Ethan Pye or Jay Mingi who particularly shone today, and they were not that far away in terms of excellence.           Sixty-six million years ago a huge asteroid   slammed into our planet wiping   out great swathes of life -obliterating the dinosaurs!   If the shock   and awe for Blackpool FC at their Bloomfield Road home today was somewhat less than the aforementioned historical trauma   for the dinosaurs, the Lancastrian side`s equilibrium was massively disrupted as County came…saw…and conquered their hosts 3-0 in a veritable blitz of   late goals slammed home with style by DC`s boys! Louie Barry opened the scoring with just over 20 minutes left- it was a real belter. The second from Jayden Fevrier was no less brilliant as he leathered the ball home from a neat Bate pass. Then there was the third and how this was received by the County faithful- as the ball fell at Tanto`s feet and he powered it home.
