Plainmoor is
a proper football ground for sure….. accommodating up to 6500 specs, with almost 3000 of them
seated, and was a picture on a cold winter afternoon when last we were there .
The turnstiles for away fans are just off
Warbro Road, and Turnstiles are cash.
The away end holds circa 1,100, away fans having the option of the
Wollens Away Terrace (Standing) or seating on Bristow’s Bench (Block A Seating, Away Fans Only).
Usually up to 500 seats are on offer Bristow's Bench Stand ( see header photo)on one side of the stadium. Both of these areas are covered. The acoustics in the away terrace are particularly good , and the view from the Bristow's Bench Stand is first class too, with decent leg room .
Toilet facilities are rumoured to have improved since our last visit with the addition of a modern toilet block, whilst refreshments are usually OK with the usual footy fair on offer.

............................................
A scintillating performance from
James Gannon`s magnificent Stockport County team saw them sweep aside a
combative Torquay side, in an emphatic 5-1 win at Plainmoor the last time fans were allowed in when County played at Plainmoor.
Nyal nails it ! |
A key factor in the County win, for me
was County`s discipline, goals from Tom Walker ,Nyal Bell , Osborne , Rodney
and Mulhern did the trick for County, whilst lovers of irony will remember that Ben Whitfield nicked one for the Gulls.
400 travelling County supporters made the trip
and went home deliriously happy.

Liquid Sustenance Near Plainmoor………
You cannot get nearer than our first recommendation Boots & Laces which backs onto the main
stand ( away fans usually welcome), but real ale is not served sadly, but many County fans go in this spot pre-match ,finding it welcoming & enjoyable and it could surely not be more convenient:-
If you are after real ale, you will definitely find it just 0.2 m away on Marychurch Road, in the Union Inn ( TQ1 3HW) where there are likely to be 2 or 3 ales on….
We should add, that Molloy’s, home of the Platform 5 Brewery ,on St. Marychurch, is very highly recommended ,but it’s about a 10 minute walk from the stadium.....hay ho !
Enjoy
