Help the Hatters Handover to Cheadle & Gatley JFC.
Over
the years Help the Hatters have been proud to support the Club and particularly
its Manager James Gannon, who was very much involved when we first set forth on
the unending journey with a mammoth refurbishment of Manor Farm training
facility in Timperley.
We
are peopled and driven by volunteers without whom nothing would be possible ,
and these men and women have been truly inspirational in the last few months,
when despite still being in the midst of keeping Edgeley Park ship shape, some
of our number took considerable time out to head off to Cheadle & Gatley
JFC on Outwood Road, Heald Green to
fulfil a project to turn a somewhat
dilapidated facility building into one fit for purpose.
You
can perhaps get some appreciation of how hard a task this was from the above photos (thanks to Edd & Simon for these) ,
but many hours were spent painting, plastering and much/much more, and the
project was completed this week.

So
………..to Wednesday 25th,when it was possible for Help the Hatters to
hand the facility back to Cheadle & Gatley JFC, and the team who did the
biz headed off to Outwood Road for the handover ceremony.
Fitzy is pictured here with the Cheadle & Gatley contingent holding the
plaque that will go up within the newly re-furbed building.
Cheadle & Gatley were most hospitable to the Help the Hatters
team on the night for which we are most grateful.
We
are also appreciative of Cheadle & Gatley`s generous donation to Help the
Hatters funds, which will be very useful indeed to us, helping to ensure we
can keep on doing what we do!
Why
did we do this particular project?
Well…..as
usual the motivation was a desire to help the Club and its Manager James
Gannon, and the re-furb would ensure that the County first team, Alan Lord`s
Academy squads, and the Community Foundation can now use the facility.
Job
done then, so a final thank you to all the volunteers who put this all
together( you know who you are!)
