Arriving early in the Flyer, last season,it was `about turn' at the infamous ginnel, for  route march around most of Victory Parks outer perimeter , having discovered the game, for the first time, was segregated.

Greeted by a phalanx of stewards, and searched , we entered the ground to take up our positions.

Stadium.

There’s nothing special about this stadium, but given freedom to roam around all 4 sides of same, it can be a pleasant place to watch a football match. Segregation rendered such freedom of movement impossible, and the facilities we were left with were of a decidedly mixed value.

Over 1400 County fans were present last season, so I suppose to be given about a quarter of the available seating was fine.  The catering was OK too, but the toilet facilities , for 1400 were less than wonderful. Only 4 males could use the facility at any one time …..there was water and paper towels ( hooray!), but not bins to deposit same in after drying ones mits ( boo!).

Sustenance!

Due to segregation, the decidedly superior `Magpies Nest’ was not available to us , so it was back to the Victory Snack Shack which we were familiar with from 2 seasons ago. The Fare on offer was OK….the pies were excellent….I sorted a meat and potato which was fantastically good.

Lou did too!

From others the pies got the thumbs up too, but burgers and hot dogs got a mixed reception.
