Segregation was  notionally in place at the Northolm in 2016/17, but, as usual ,with our hosts using their noddles in a way alien to the purveyors of segregation policy elsewhere, the segregation was of a sort that saw County fans again drifting amiably about on all 4 sides of this pleasant stadium without the slightest hint of trouble!

I looked for Scubby’s ( and his onions) but found he had upped sticks and relocated to the bijou catering facility further to the left as you enter at the away end. I had already had a hot dog in the home end, so did not sample Scubby’s wares or his onions, and it is sad to recount that the home end had `onion issues’ too, and hedgie’s hot dog was sans onions  much to his annoyance.

It needs to be said at this point.... the Elm  is a terrific pub well worth a visit, very near the ground, with a  decent selection of ales, food and a beer garden to boot. The landlord was a fine sort, ignoring pleas from the authorities to keep County fans out of his establishment. He was rewarded, for the 3^rd year running, with a trouble free…hopefully profitable afternoons business!
