Warrington Town 1 Stockport County 4 ( Friendly) 24 July 2018

One from Andrew to start us off, County’s visit to the `Winner Recruitment Stadium ` was an altogether happy one last night as James Gannon’s team came away with a well earned 4-1 win against Evo Stik Northern Premier side Warrington Town. As against Everton on Saturday, but in reverse, the score line probably did Paul Carden’s side scant justice, as they gave County a real game for the first hour, and for a time might have squared things up , with a shade more luck and a less alert Ian Ormson in the County goal. As it was both sides swapped the personnel about in the second half , and County’s use of substitutes proved , perhaps unsurprisingly, a decisive factor in the game’s outcome. Sam Walker stood out amongst the subs again looking well worth a start, and young Jordan Downing deserves a word , having the combative ex Hatter Richard Brodie to contend with, and when he went off another ex Hatter ,Josh Amiss who has been scoring of late. Stockport County 1 Everton Under 23.s 4 ( Friendly) 21 July 2018

County upped the class of the pre-season opposition a touch again today, entertaining Premier League   Everton’s Under 23 side at Edgeley Park Teams out ( Andrew Machin ) . For the yellow shirted blues to get anything at all from this game would have been an exceptional result, and as it was James Gannon’s new charges led 1-0 at half time thanks to a decent 45 minutes of effort and energy topped off with a fine finish from Frank Mulhern. Frank Mulhern (Andrew Machin ) They had looked pretty good in reaching that point…..Minihan looked a danger from first to last kick, and elsewhere the defence coped really well with everything the young toffees could throw at them. Sam Minihan ( Andrew Machin )  In this respect I liked the input from Smalley and Palmer particularly, and Duxbury played Danny Bramall so well that he was subbed at the break. The midfield worked hard as well with Turnbull and Walker involved 100%, but all in all no one in yell...
