County`s orgy of cuts and underfunding reaped another small whirlwind last night, when they   went out of yet another Cup competition.....the FA Trophy,   with a clueless   performance at Edgeley Park where they contrived once again to throw away an early lead midst an indifferent display of football skills. Having twice come back from being a goal behind on Saturday at Holker Street, there appeared every prospect that, with home advantage, County would reward their supporters for ignoring the blandishments of England/ Germany beside a warm fire, with, if not a resounding win, maybe a performance of wit...

                                                           County fans in good spirits! Military Sports Kazakstan v County A County party reduced by injuries picked up during a demanding schedule of 5 games in a very short space of time fulfilled their commitment but went out of the competition via a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Kazakhstan side. Despite the best efforts of the organisers who employed 60 men working on the pitch round the clock since yesterdays game the only change to the naked eye this time was considerable water logging underfoot. In theory however it would be safer to play on. Nonetheless County fielded a side that again had a mix of youth team players, first teamers' and golden oldies. ...

All`s well, that ends well.....I suppose, and it ended well enough at Holker Street today,where County   scrapped out a draw to take a combative Barrow side back to Edgeley Park on Tuesday for a replay in the FA Trophy. After winning 4-2 , with some ease ,not so long ago against the same opponents, there will be those less than impressed with a draw, but it could have been worse,particularly when County`s propensity for defensive buffoonery surfaced and the Cumbrians took the lead thanks to an inglorious own goal.Less than 3 minutes later and County leveled it when Turner`s speed brought a foul from the home side and a penalty for County which Jevens put away with consummate ease. Having reached half time level, I expected the Hatters to take the game to their opponents, but within 3 minutes of the re-start those same opponents were ahead when livewire Nick Rushton fired home from the spot after a hand to ball moment in County`s box. Supporters Cooperative ACV. Confirmation has been received that Edgeley Park is now listed by the local authority as an Asset of Community Value. This is terrific news and reward for   the hard work of the Supporters Cooperative who ,backed by Supporters Direct, did the biz on behalf of County fans! Fantastic stuff....congratulations! AGM. The Stockport County Supporters Cooperative AGM has been called for Tuesday 3 rd December at 19.30 in the Insider Suite , Edgeley Park. As you are aware Help the Hatters are supporting the Cooperative and fielding candidates in the upcoming elections.
