        hedgegrower was unable to make the trip to Congleton last night ( “what again” I hear you exclaim angrily “ yes again !” old hedgie responds “ but there is good news”)….. And there is-         First off Andrew Machin of @machinsports   was there and pitch side and has supplied the blog with a raft of excellent action shots- all here now…       And to compliment Andrew`s work the blog has managed to persuade travelling County supporter Joan Plimmer to step in as Guest Reporter , and   give us a short account of her trip to Congs and County`s exit from this seasons Cheshire Senior Cup ! Old hedgie`s obsession with food had us ask Joan about the usually superb menu at Congleton Here`s Joan`s response and view of what was a disappointing County display….. I didn't eat   at the ground, but the food did look excellent and comparatively cheap compared to some (all first division clubs I've been to). ...

        Two down inside 12 minutes to Premiership Under 21 side Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stockport County`s predominantly youthful side came back impressively to claim a well-deserved 5-3 victory in tonight`s EFL Trophy game at Edgeley Park. The match provided rich entertainment for a crowd of over 1000 – 2 goals each for Nathan Lowe ( first half) and Joe Astles ( a real find)after the break plus a fine effort by Odin Bailey saw County home, but to be fair they established total domination in the second half and were unlucky not to have scored more. Wolves by way of contrast , having opened the match   strongly, fed on a diet of occasional breaks from deep plus a consistent supply of free kicks and largely weird decisions by the Referee after the break.
