County went   down to a rare league defeat as promotion chasing full timers Kidderminster Harriers took the points scoring two goals without reply at a   wet and windy Aggborough today. The Minihan lite County opened the brighter of the two outfits, and might have gone in up instead of in arrears, had one or two shots that came back out off an upright   instead gone in. They didn’t though and as the first half wore on so the full time skills of Gnahoua, Ngwatala, Waite and Francis-Angol took a toll forcing County to defend for periods. That said we were cruising into added time when a mix up twixt Clarke and Hinchliffe gifted the lead to our hosts. The second half saw JG swap Amis for Meppen-Walter early doors, and for long periods thereafter County pinned Harriers deep in their own half, and Keith Lowe was exceedingly fortunate to stay on the park, after a series of gruesome challenges failed to get a suitable response from Referee Massey-Ellis.   County duly extended their unbeaten league run to twelve games, and kept in easy reach of the play off places,    with a thoroughly deserved 2-1 win against   FC United of Manchester, today at Edgeley Park. Some might say that County made somewhat hard work of it, but I prefer to note the fact that, having taken a lead…doubled it….then conceded a poor goal via the penalty spot, they then did not fold. No….   County manned it out, and ,more importantly, saw the game out in a very professional manner, faced with shed loads of provocation from a visiting side that let themselves down badly on the discipline front! Yep…they did that, all right!  Before the game I was pondering the fact that scientists had just discovered humanity’s earliest ancestor, and that there was a shock along with the discovery, in that ` saccorhytus coronarous’ apparently was little more than `a bag with a mouth’.  Saccorhytus coronarous Yes…..to be sure……natures earliest
