Northampton Town 2 Stockport County 1 ( Football League 2) Saturday 24 September 2022

County slumped to another depressing away defeat at Sixfields today at the hands of a Northampton Town team that at half time might have feared the worst with County 1-0 up and in control of the game. But it took just 2 minutes for County to lose their composure and their lead in the second half as an unnecessarily conceded free kick led to Hoskins` equaliser. Wolves had skills to burn married to excellent technique under pressure and withering pace throughout a side that was obviously well drilled. Against that it must be acknowledged that County probably shaded possession, for the most part defending soundly under some pressure at times. Whilst they did that well enough ,2 defensive lapses did for any good work , whilst up front the amount of possession we enjoyed and decent positions we worked for ourselves were negated by lack o...
