Man in a Hat is Back ( from Chorley)- P1 of possibly 3

Could back-to-back County games without going back home ever be beaten? Of course it could. Hereford followed by Chester has been surpassed. Take a bow Chorley, followed by Curzon followed by Nuneaton. An expedition so complex and extensive, I’ll have to serialise it for you over the summer. A Behemoth of a Trip The plan was to set out on Good Friday (19 th April), spend 3 nights in Chorley, get the train back to Stockport Easter Monday (22 nd April) to watch County’s final home game (hopefully) and then set off for Nuneaton, albeit via Sheffield for my annual dose of snooker, before returning home Sunday 28 th . Summertime You already know there is a happy ending of course, but I promise to faithfully report my experiences using the notes I took at the time. Nuneaton Borough 0 Stockport County 3 ( Vanarama National League- North) 27 April 2019

After seemingly   endless years or disappointment, heartache and ill fortune, Stockport County at last had something of substance to celebrate today, as a well merited 3-0 win against bottom club Nuneaton Borough saw them crowned champions of the   Vanarama National League North, to start their longed for climb back up the UK football pyramid. Just brilliant ! Long time leaders and close rivals Chorley also won…. 3-2 but it made no difference as James Gannon`s excellent side`s emphatic win, and their form particularly in the last half of the season, saw them secure the Club`s first championship title for 52 years. Long awaited , and well deserved ! Goals from Palmer, Warburton   and Thomas did the trick for the yellow shirted blues, who never really looked in danger of missing out against a game but generally lack lustre Borough side.
