Forever Friends of Uganda !

Many of you know - but far more of you do not know - about my work with our charity, Forever Friends of Uganda. For more than 15 years, we have been supporting village children who possess nothing; not even the means to a primary school education; and often without the shoes needed to walk to school and to protect their health. So why tell you about it now? And what has it to do with Stockport County? Well, firstly because I have been a County fan for almost 70 years. Admittedly a fair amount of that time has been in exile (both in Africa and in France). I get to as many matches as I am able and wonderfully the tradition has been passed down to son and grandchildren who are present at most home games. The second, and more immediate, reason is that because of this connection, County has awarded our charity the opportunity to make a bucket collection at the home game with North Ferriby United this coming Saturday, 23rd September. Stockport County 1 Curzon Ashton 0 ( FA Cup- 2QR) 16 September 2017

County   worked hard to   progress to the next round of the FA Cup this afternoon at the expense of Curzon Ashton . It was not a vintage County performance by any means, and I felt that their group mojo was not quite 100% back and firing ...but this is a start, after a difficult week or two. If the result was good....some of the execution, from County, took a time to emerge with the necessary quality. It was not yer traditional FA Cup Tie, in fact I thought that the first half would never end. Of the two teams, the visitors showed more ability ,in the first 45, to pass the ball about effectively, whilst County struggled doing this, looking disjointed for much of the time and unsure in possession. Hinchliffe- in good form, greets the boys ( Andrew Machin ) The result was that   first 20 saw neither keeper troubled   at all, and for much of the rest of the half Hinchliffe was the busier of the two keepers .
