Grey Day !

Image
Grey Day…………….. It seemed like all your Monday`s distilled into one, as Help the Hatters arrived at Edgeley Park for their Monday session with dark clouds greeting our arrival with a firm promise of worse to come! As well as a general greyness, water seemed to be everywhere- it seemed   incongruous therefore for a power clean to be on the agenda but it was and   in no time at all Shaun was on it – the Pop Side will be well ready to receive the hordes of exclusively home supporters upon the season`s start!           There were a number of absentees …..Gaffer John Gaskin who was taking a well-earned holiday break, and our best wishes go to Derek who had picked up Covid again, and to Jim T with his radiotherapy. That left 8 who made it to the stadium, where this sight greeted them courtesy of Adrian I guess.           Adrian was already engaged adding grey paint to Aisle 1 which he had previously expertly applied yellow to.           Edd was scraping Aisle 3 in pre

Debt to Equity.

The Supporters Cooperative Says It...hedgegrower Agrees ! In times of massive uncertainty both in the world in general and football in particular, good news is a rare commodity, but hedgegrower sees this as being just that and adds his congratulations to Mr Stott for this most welcome of actions, and to the Cooperative for keeping their eye on this particular ball. The Supporters Cooperative message is reproduced here:_   Debt to Equity.   The Supporters Cooperative notes with satisfaction the announcement from the Club confirming that, as promised     Mark Stott `s investment of £7.7m in the Club has been converted to equity. From the day in January 2020 that we met Mr Stott and his team prior to the take over at the Club, working to ensure that Stockport County avoided pit falls from the past and attained debt free status has been a priority for us and a ma

Season 2022-23

Season 2022-23.   It has been a massive pleasure and honour to have covered County, on line as hedgegrower over the last 9 seasons, and published reports over the previous 10 seasons via SCSCList Yahoo account. With the Club now poised and fully ready to commence their first season back in the Football League, times are set to improve for the County team and the supporters who sustain them so well week in week out! Regrettably however it looks very much like hedgegrower will be unable to provide the same service in the new season. The Photographic License requirements, for none club photographers, are far tougher than those of the National League and the licensing body has indicated they do not grant accreditation to `single club fanzines/ blogs`. This is a fantastically sad situation and hedgegrower apologises to County supporters, for this, particularly those resident overseas who follow the team so passionately despite the many miles twixt us and them. Thank you all
