County served up a rousing barnstorming finish , with a dash of the fairy tail about it away to FCUM today, as a late goal from Jamie Stott in his last game for the blues ( for a while anyway)   made it 2-1 ,and won the game for James Gannon`s team. Stott- wanted one today ! It was a good win, but one that looked in doubt when the Moston side took the lead 9 minutes in. After that County did most of the pressing , but the more infrequent attacks from the home side seemed to be more incisive, thus it was   more than a slight relief when chief nicker of trifles, Frank Mulhern, poached the equaliser smack on half time. Mulhern was just Mulhern ! That revitalised County, who had the game by the scruff of the neck upon the restart, with Thomas , Mulhern and Warburton in particular leading the reds a far from merry dance. Warburton  - never stopped. For long periods it looked like a County goal was inevitable…but it just would not come

County extended their current unbeaten run to thirteen games last night, with a well deserved 1-0 win , thanks to Darren Stephenson`s third goal in four games against a gritty Leamington side. 3 in 4 for Dazzer ! Jamie Hood epitomised the home sides grit- constantly thwarting County raids ,particularly in the first half. If he headed dangerous crosses out once…he did it umpteen times. He needed to…….as   Stephenson, Thomas, Minihan and Duxbury relentlessly pinged over tasty morsels for others to feed on. Only one such morsel was converted into the gold of a goal, and that came from Thomas. OK….it took a deflection en route, but that was quickly forgotten as Darren Stephenson headed home. That was 8 minutes from the end of a first half in which , the Brakes did well to contain a County side clearly intent on continuing their current impressive run. There were around 350 County supporters in the ground , as I made an unsuccessful search for sustenance
