Away Ground Guide- Curzon Ashton (Saturday 24 September 2016. )

Curzon Ashton FC
Tameside Stadium,
Richmond Street,
ASHTON UNDER LYNE, Lancashire,
OL7 9HG

The Tameside Stadium has a capacity of 4000, with seating provision for 527 in the covered stand. There is a covered standing area opposite the main stand offering protection from the elements for circa 600. A decent stadium, is this, if a touch unsuited to the mind numbingly ludicrous policy of segregation, which saw 1600 County fans, from a crowd of under1800, kept from the Nash Bar by the stewards last season. Curzon Ashton must have been as bereft as were the County fans, however….the police were happy!

No room at the Inn-plenty on the open terrace that had 20 Ashtonians on it!

Sustenance;
There is a perfectly serviceable snack bar in the main stand area....however....last seasons segregation policy ensured that …..there was no room at the inn for County fans, who were kept from the rather neat catering unit under the main stand, being restricted to the burger van at the other end of the stand which was hurriedly provided and was subsequently surrounded by the world’s longest queue game long! Another triumph for police intelligence! Many I knew did not bother to eat due to the queue’s, but not so the Man in a Hat who was in position early doors and in possession of a burger in no time….know he no shame?

The Sports Bar serves a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks but will it be accessible to County fans ?
